CALL FOR ART

About the Curator

Camilla Taylor is recognized for their monochromatic and intensely introspective works on paper and sculpture, which utilize figurative and architectural forms. Taylor’s artworks reflect the viewer’s internal lives as well as collective issues we experience as a society. Taylor co-founded Los Angeles' C. Feign Jr. Gallery, and has curated exhibitions for Brandstater Gallery, Track 16 Gallery, Shoebox Projects, and many others. An accomplished artist exhibiting in traditional gallery spaces, they also create installations in intimate and unusual locations, such as site-specific works in a swimming pool, desert garden, and other locations. They are represented by Track 16 in Los Angeles and Kanda & Oliveira in Tokyo. Raised in Provo, Utah, Taylor attended the University of Utah and received a BFA in 2006, and an MFA from California State University at Long Beach in 2011. Taylor lives in Los Angeles, CA, and teaches at Occidental College and UCLA.

Open Call for LA Area Artists working in all media! The Middle Room is currently accepting submissions from emerging to mid-career to established contemporary Los Angeles area artists for our second-annual LA-made small works salon: The Middle Becomes Eclectic

Artists practicing throughout the greater Los Angeles area are invited to submit their work for consideration by The Middle Room Guest Curator Camilla Taylor to be included in our 2nd annual The Middle Becomes Eclectic—a large group exhibition of widely diverse and accessible small works, all made-in-LA-in-2025 by artists at various career levels—curated together, salon-style, all priced at $500 and under. This exciting and off-beat exhibition supports community-building, accessible art-collecting and art-gift-giving during the holiday season—and reflects and celebrates the current pulse of the art being made in LA.

Submit up to 5 small works in any medium—made during 2025 and priced $500 or less—with links to web site and IG page and a brief bio and statement (maximum 75 words each/150 words in length total combined).

Selected artists will have their work exhibited in our gallery, included on our social media, and considered for future exhibition opportunities at The Middle Room. All submitted work must be available for sale and consigned to The Middle Room from November 15, 2025—February 15, 2026.
