Justine Di Fiore is a Los Angeles based artist and educator. She holds an MFA in Art Studio from the University of California, Davis and a BA in Studio Art from Oberlin College. Her solo show “Pietà” was recently on view at The Bunker LA. Justine will be presenting new work in a forthcoming solo show at Dreamsong in Minneapolis, MN.

My painting practice is rooted in the necessity and labor of caregiving. I create scenes that depict the dynamic between the body holding and the body being held, where the physical and psychological state of the subjects are laid bare. These bodily postures and interactions arise from my experience working as a caregiver and my study of art historical sources.
