Through symbolic imagery and surreal color, my work reflects on the mythological and historical ties between humankind and nature. Recurring motifs—suns, moons, mountains, rivers—reference natural and corporeal cycles, while otherworldly color, hand-applied in layered techniques, conveys time, mood, and seasonality. Drawing on ukiyo-e, Hudson River School painting, and spiritual archetypes, I explore dualities of serenity and sorrow, isolation and interdependence, often blurring fact and fiction to highlight our reliance on both nature and symbolism for meaning.
