The Middle Room is a gallery created in 2023 by Artist, Educator and Curator Shannon Rae Fincke to give support and exhibition opportunities to contemporary local and national artists. Artist-run and artist-centered, The Middle Room concentrates on showing often overlooked mid-career women artists, and on creating connections and conversations, building community, and expanding awareness, inquiry, dialogue, integrity, and education. Our exhibition space cohabitates with Institute for Visual Arts in the Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles, and is open on weekend afternoons, by appointment, and for scheduled evening events.
